Tenth Program: Certificate in
NATURE/ CHARACTER OF THE AWARD
This award has been developed for learners/candidates who wish to pursue further studies in the discipline of a lay pastor/preacher, but cannot cope at the Diploma Level.
PURPOSE
This qualification equips/empowers Lay Pastors training to be relevant to the current changing society. It provides a dynamic theological training to candidates who wish to broaden their knowledge and ground their spiritual life in Scripture and sound theology. It will nurture learners in Christian faith, conduct and responsibilities so that they can confirm Christ’s leadership in their lives.
OVERALL OUTCOME STATEMENT
A graduate of this award should be able to work with the people in the local church concerning spiritual and pastoral administrative responsibilities with competence and leadership.
GRADUATE OUTCOME
A graduate of the Certificate in Lay Ministry, will demonstrate the ability to:
-Admin local church.
-Prepare and present biblically & theologically sound sermons.
-Demonstrate servant hood skills in community development.
-Evangelise with pastoral care for the youths.
-Coordinate youth programmes and teach Sunday school classes.
-Lead instructions of hymnal notes and choirs.
