The Third Programme –
Function:
This Pre-School training centre has been running its programme as a Certificate Level 4. However, with the assistance of the Fiji Higher Education Commission the college is currently unpacking the National Qualification—Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care to the MLTC objectives. In fact the staffs of the institution (MLTC) determined to enrich the programme by incorporating ECE modules together with some Vocational and Biblical based courses.
Objectives
a) To explore early childhood education through working with young children in Fiji.
b) To discuss what early childhood teachers do.
c) To understand why early childhood teachers do the things they do.
Entry Criteria:
– Attended Form 6/year 12 or Equivalent
– Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) as stated in Chap. 17 (1.3)
